My name is Lauren and I’m currently residing in Tampa, Florida. I grew up on Long Island, NY where I briefly studied Fashion Design at Pratt Institute. Later, I studied Visual Art at Suffolk County Community College. I landed a coveted spot in the Illustration department at Maryland Institute College of Art where I graduated with a BFA in Illustration in 2014. Since graduation, I have delved into teaching hand lettering and calligraphy at Paper Source, Anne Arundel Community College and the Baltimore Academy of Illustration. I also taught painting in Baltimore from 2015 to 2018.

In my personal work I take inspiration from nature, folklore, mythology and anything “vintage”. My passion in life is watercolor and portraiture. I strive to give my work a sense of emotion that is difficult to achieve in many mediums but I love a challenge. I would love to explore more of the illustration world with surface design, greeting cards, book illustration and more.
